Bananas and death squads

I tend to be a minority in the international aid community in thinking that most of these Evil Corporate Empire theories are just silly, the sort of over-simplistic tripe that belongs in undergraduate coffee houses on the West Coast. But occasionally, something like this comes along and reminds me that there are, in fact, Evil Corporate Empires out there.

Next time you peel a Chiquita banana, ask yourself: am I paying the Colombian drug lords, the paramilitary death squads, or just the corrupt politicians?

Just one more way the poor and the disadvantaged pay for the extravagancies of the West.
